 Summary

This documentation article demonstrates how to Search / Locate Parts and Assemblies within an Interactive Parts Catalog within the TIPS Platform.

 Searching For / Locating Parts & Assemblies within a Parts Catalog

Step 1

When you're logged into the TIPS application and on the home tab, select a Parts Catalog from the Browse Content Grid, and click Open.

The Interactive Parts Catalog will open in a new tab. On the left hand side, just above the Table of Contents (TOC), there is a search box. Type the value that you want to search for within the Search Box.

When performing a Search, the system will search the following fields:

  • Part Number
  • Part Name
  • Assembly Number
  • Assembly Name

Technical Notes

Note that as you type, the system will automatically perform the search and show the results immediately within the Table of Contents.

In Addition - Note that the system has advanced search features including:

  • Wild Cards      *search value here*
  • Exact Match Search     "search value here"

Concrete Examples

Begins-With Search

To locate all Part Numbers that begin with the numbers 0955, simply search for 0955*



Ends-With Search

To locate all Part Numbers that end with the characters 4311, simply search for *4311



Contains Search

To locate all Part Numbers that contains the characters M123, simply search for *M123*



Exact Match Search

To locate any Part Numbers that exactly match the characters S177095, simply search for "S177095"



Note that these Concrete Examples are searches for Part Numbers, but you can also search for Part Names, Assembly Numbers, Assembly Names, etc.
